So close...

Ok, tomorrow is the day we turn in our first huge set of papers. I'll go by Gladney tomorrow afternoon with the application and a huge chunk of moolah. I'm only worried about our insurance stuff. We've had the same insurance for about 3 years, but the month that I'm trying to turn in the application, Clayton's job (our church) changes insurance. Of course. So, that may be my one hold up...

Also, we had lunch this past Monday with a missionary from Ethiopia! It was awesome. She could answer so many questions about the people and the country and she had a ton of pictures. I feel good that we have a connection there now. Clayton and I want to turn the trip to get our baby into a missionary trip. We would love to go over a week early and do some mission work and then get our baby and have him dedicated at a church in his homeland. We really feel that we just aren't getting a baby, but making a permanent connection to a people group. I want to take our baby back to his birth country when he is older and serve these people.

The most amazing thing about the people of Ethiopia (and this is something I learned from our new missionary friend) is how grateful and playful they are. Even though they barely have ANYTHING, they always leave some food on their plates for the beggars outside and they praise God that they have health and life. I think that is amazing.

Ok, I have to figure out who our insurance is through right this moment so I can finish this application.

So fun that you have made an Ethiopian friend! A friend here has told me about an Ethiopian restaruant here in OKC....It is owned by an Ethiopian family. I have heard that they are a neat Christian family with an amazing story. I think I need to meet them. I guess Josh and will need to try out dinner there some night and somehow introduce ourselves.:) Did the insurance get figured out? We are in a transition with our insurance company too. Gladney was real accomodating with it. For the application, they only required that we copy a page from our current benefits booklet stating that an adopted child would be covered. I will worry about the official letter when we actually switch over in January.
So exciting!
